Even if you are the cleanest person you know, odds are there are some spots in your home that you simply forget to clean. Here are some surprising places that you may forget to spruce up when you care for your home.
Air Ducts
Sure, you get your HVAC system tuned up at least once a year and you even clean the duct covers when they look dusty, but what about the actual ducts themselves? Dirty air ducts can make your air dirty and cause you to breathe in allergens that could affect your health. Consider a good air duct cleaning Pittsburgh PA every year or so to keep the air you're breathing inside healthy.
Above the Fridge
If you haven't ever thought to clean above your fridge, now is a good time. You'd be surprised by just how dusty it can get, and you may want to prepare yourself for a great deal of grime before you climb on the ladder hoping to just give it a quick wipe down. Do this for other appliances too, such as toaster ovens, above microwaves, and the tops of other tall appliances in your home that you forget to clean.
Curtains and Valances
Curtains, valances, and any other fabrics in your home can trap dust, so it is important to clean them occasionally. If you're lucky, a quick wash in your washing machine should do the trick. If you have heavy window dressings or if they're made of delicate fabric, it may be time for a trip to a dry cleaner to get them professionally cleaned. This is particularly important if you suffer from dust allergies because you never know what could be hiding in indoor fabrics.
