Great Camp Collection

Great Camp Collection

Wondering what is the story of this wavy furniture? Actually, it's all about recreating the nineteenth century New York state country cabin's style. Designer Paul Loebach called this "rustic" series the Great Camp Collection which include dining chairs, a coat rack, dresser and credenza. The pieces are made using special techniques such as CNC machining in order to create beautiful irregular shapes.

Loebach's Great Camp Collection is manufactured in the USA for MatterMade. Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Paul graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2002 and then moved to New York City where he currently lives and works, as a wood furniture and manufacturing technologies consultant. "I'm interested in design as the study of form for the basic purpose of giving objects meaning. Design is a semiotic language and must therefore hold a balance between the continuity of recognizable imagery and the poetic shift of innovation", explains Paul. What do you think about these digitally sculpted "rustic" pieces?
