SILKE Dolls

Don't you just love these cute rag dolls found at Ptolemy Toys? Not only they make wonderful gifts for every little girl, but they're also beautiful decorative objects with their charming little faces and adorable tiny clothes and shoes.

Silke Doll AmelieI know I would love to have my sofa covered with SILKE dolls (or maybe I'm just a weird old gal). The price is a little high (£150.00) but it's totally worth it, as the dolls are hand made by traditionally methods, have high quality mohair or artificial hair and the clothes are impeccably cut and very fashionable; just look at little Amelie.

Silke Angel DollThe SILKE Collection was created in 1982 by Elend GmbH, a small family-run company based in Gräfelfing, near Munich, and dedicated to bringing wonderful, inspirational stuffed dolls for children. The design, with simple, clear shapes and colors was influenced by the experience of educationalists, especially of the Waldorf School.

I suppose with such a steep price tag, it’s more suited as a gift for the big girls instead.

Customized rag dolls are perhaps one of the best finds, especially for every little girl. It is hardly an educational toy, but to achieve a good balance; it brings some softness to the room, especially if it is already filled with blocks and 'hard' toys.
