Chocosho bone-stacking game

Now this is a game perfect for hanging out, I mean there's no fun playing this alone. Who will go: aaaah, don't take that one, oh, no, ooh. In my case I could entertain myself with this Chocosho bone-stacking game but you should play this with the cute guy you've just met and let him win, know what I mean? (You don't?) Anyway, the main idea of this wood bone and skull stacking game is this: you build the tower of bones, then take one out at a time and be careful not to let it fall over. Remove the bones from the middle of the tower and place them on top without the whole tower collapsing. Chocosho bone-stacking game Price: $18, available at

Ralph Lauren home cube puzzle

I love cube puzzles, they’re so fun and relaxing to solve, you forget about everything when start solving them. But the problem with most puzzles is that their charms rarely last, and they don’t make beautiful ornaments around the house (you know those annoying colorful plastic puzzle cubes). Mister Ralph Lauren (well, not him but one of his employees at Ralph Lauren Home) designed a beautiful glass house that, once assembled, it serves as a stylish paperweight or a desk accessory. Ralph Lauren home cube puzzle So, it's like two-in-one piece. Ralph Lauren Home Cube Puzzle, $295, available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Umbra wobble chess set

I must brag about my chess sets collection, I must have dozens of them at home but this wobble chess set, designed by Adin Mumma is by far the funniest chess set I have ever seen. Wheeee! Now I wouldn't mind being kicked ass at chess, as it always happens, as I would be too busy watching those cute pieces wobbling away. The maple-and-walnut board features concave spaces in which the curved, nickel-bottomed pieces can freely quiver, thus creating a lively interaction between board and pieces. Umbra wobble chess set Table size: 15 x 15" (38 x 38cm). Wobble Chess Set, €275.00, available at Umbra store.

The most stylish acoustic refuge: Sonic Chair

Even in my most daring dream I couldn’t have imagine a giant ear muff you could sit in and listen to loud music without anyone bugging you. Well, maybe that’s why there are awarded designers. Holger Fritzlar and the designatics (Frank Hussong, Michael Kientzler and Daniela Reuter) must have thought at me when building the sonic chair (just kidding). The Sonic Chair allows you to sit at the very centre of a sound system adapted to your ears. The sound insulation creates an acoustic island: what you choose to listen to is hardly perceptible beyond the chair and background noises will not disturb your listen to music/audio book, either. The outside upholstery is made of top-grade leather in four basic colors: orange, green, pink and beige. Sonic Chair – orange

Equation Bookshelf

Equation Bookshelf is an atypical and fun way to organize your books and not only. The main idea is quite simple. Marcos Breder and his design team from Brazilian company Estudio Breder created this bookshelf to divide things in priority order; a translation of the mathematical equation in home décor. So, put the most important book or any other object, such as a flowerpot or a portrait, between parentheses and set others between square brackets and braces. equation bookshelf with flowerpot

Portable Rotary Phone

The Port-O-Rotary, available now in red, is an original rotary phone that has been specially modified to function like a mobile cell phone. All you have to do is open the phone, insert your SIM card, and turn the unit on which will operate your phone number and account minutes. What keeps the retro mood alive is that this phone has a dial tone, dials out through the rotary and the incoming calls ring the original, loud, gong style metal bells. Its best features: the internal cellular module works within any country that has one of the 900MHz, 1800MHz, or 1900MHz cellular bands and the battery can run for 4-5 days and is charged by an external jack on the rear of the phone. The Port-O-Rotary is truly international with up to 15-digit dialing, auto-frequency selection, '+' characters, and PIN # entry for pre-paid cards. Port-O-Rotary

Glow in the dark deckchair

This is a project developed by a young Argentinean designer named Ignacio Pilotto. It may look as the usual deckchair but it's sure not ordinary. The fabric covering glows in the dark thanks to dozen of luminous inserts. A chair that glows in the dark it's more than useful for a cruise ship and not only. In the case of blackout there will be no problem to find a comfortable seat while waiting for the light...or, if you live in a porch house this chair would make a lovely summer night setting. Just dreaming on... Ignacio Pilotto Deckchair

Hygge-lys Candle by Jeremy Walton

Candles can be most useful when a power outage happens at night. Trust me, I know. That is if you live in a rented flat on an old building like me. But what happens if you know where you put the candles but can't find any matches? Jeremy Walton must have come across this nasty situatsion more than once in his life as, in 2002 he designed Hygge-lys, a candle with a built-in matchbox.Hygge-lys Candle
